Title : Abetment of Offences Punishable with Death and Not Committed

Any person subject to this Act who abets the commission of any of the offences punishable with death under sections 14, 17 and sub-section (1) of section 18 shall, on conviction by a Security Force Court, if that offence be not committed in consequence of the abetment, and no express provision is made by this Act for the punishment of such abetment, be liable to suffer imprisonment for a term which may extend to fourteen years or such less punishment as is in this Act mentioned. Title : Trial, Etc., of Offender Who Ceases to Be Subject to This Act

(1) Where an offence under this Act had been committed by any person while subject to this Act, and he has ceased to be so subject, he may be taken into and kept in Force custody and tried and punished for such offence as if he continued to be so subject. (2) No such person shall be tried for an offence, unless his trial commences within six months after he had ceased to be subject to this Act: Provided that nothing contained in this sub-section shall apply to the trial of any such person for an offence of desertion or for any of the offences mentioned in section 17 or shall affect the jurisdiction of a criminal court to try any offence triable by such court as well as by a Security Force Court. Title : Dismissal, Removal or Reduction by the Director-general and by Other Officers

(1) The Director-General or any Inspector-General may dismiss or remove from the service or reduce to a lower grade or rank or the ranks any person subject to this Act other than an officer. (2) An officer not below the rank of Deputy Inspector-General or any prescribed officer may dismiss or remove from the service any person under his command other than an officer or a subordinate officer of such rank or ranks as may be prescribed. (3) Any such officer as is mentioned in sub-section (2) may reduce to a lower grade or rank or the ranks any person under his command except an officer or a subordinate officer. Title : Fresh Sentence After Suspension

Where an offender, while a sentence on him is suspended under this Act, is sentenced for any other offence, then-- (a) if the further sentence is also suspended under this Act, the two sentences shall run concurrently; (b) if the further sentence is for a period of three months or more and is not suspended under this Act, the offender shall also be committed to prison or Force custody for the unexpired portion of the previous sentence, but both sentences shall run concurrently; and (c) if the further sentence is for a period of less than three months and is not suspended under this Act, the offender shall be so committed on that sentence only, and the previous sentence shall, subject to any order which may be passed under section 134 or section 135 continue to be suspended.
