Rajpatra (Asadharan) dated 24-1-2005 Pages 40(21-39).] [24th January, 2005] PREAMBLE An Act to establish and incorporate an open University, at State level for introduction and promotion of open university and distance education system, in the field of higher education and to provide for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto. Be it enacted by the Chhattisgarh Legislature in the Fifty-fifth Year of the Republic of India, as follows: -- Section 1 - Short title, extent and commencement (1) This Act may be called the Pandit Sundar Lal Sharma (Open) University Chhattisgarh Adhiniyam, 2004. (2) It extends to the whole of Chhattisgarh. (3) It shall come into force on the date of its publication in Official Gazette.
