The East Punjab Armed Bands (Arrest and Detention) Act, 1947 Complete Act

.....is likely to cause grievous hurt or death; but does not in- elude licensed arms or arms for which no license is under the provisions of the said Act or the rules made thereunder, required; (b) "Armed band" means any assembly or group of five or more persons, all or any of whom carry or carries, arms; Provided that no public servant who carries any arms in pursuance of his duties as such public servant shall be treated as member of an arm ed band; (c) "The Code" means the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1898; (d) "Concentration Camp" means any camp es tablished by or under the authority of the (Substituted for the word "Provincial" by the Adaptation of Laws Order, 1950) [State] Government for the dentention of persons contravening any of the provisions of this Act; (e) "Grievous hurt" has the meaning given to it in section 320 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860; and (f) ''Public servant" has the meaning given to it in section 21 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860; 3. If any such band fail to comply with the orders of the said Magistrate within the prescribed period, he shall report the matter to the State Government, and the State Government may give such directions for the surveillance, control or deportation of such band as to it seems fit.

CABLE TELEVISION NETWORKS (REGULATION) ACT, 1995 CABLE TELEVISION NETWORKS (REGULATION) ACT, 1995 [Act No. 7 of Year 1995, dated 25-3-1995] Promulgated by the President in the Forty-fifth Year of the Republic of India. An Act to regulate the operation of cable television networks in the country and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto. Be it enacted by Parliament in the Forty-sixth year of the Republic of India as follows: - CHAPTER 1: PRELIMINARY SECTION 01: SHORT TITLE, EXTENT AND COMMENCEMENT (1) This Act may be called the Cable Television Networks (Regulation) Act,1995. (2) It extends to the whole of India. (3) It shall be deemed to have come into force on the 29th day of September, 1994. SECTION 02: DEFINITIONS In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires,- (a) "cable operator' means any person who provides cable service through a cable television network or otherwise controls or is responsible for the management and operation of a cable television network; (b) "cable service" means the transmission by cables of programmes including re-transmission by cable of any broadcast television signals; (c) "cable television network" means.....
