If he /she is an Advocate or Pleader, produce from the Presiding Officer of the Court in which he/ she is actually practicing, a certificate indicating the length of his / her practice; b. If he / she is an Assistant Public Prosecutor, Grade I or an Assistant Public Prosecutor, Grade II, produce from the Collector of the District concerned, a certificate indicating the length of his / her service; c. Produce a certificate of good character, from a Senior Advocate /counsel and another from a responsible person, not being a relative but who is well acquainted with him / her in private life. The selection shall be made based on the results of written examination and viva voce i.e, the selection will be made on the basis of the total marks obtained by the candidates in the written examination and viva voce taken together subject to the rule of reservation of appointment. The maximum marks allotted for the written examination and viva voce shall be 75% and 25 % respectively. .....DEPARTMENT Notification The 7th August, 2007 No. AHE 154/2007/166 In exercise of powers conferred under sub-section (1) read with sub- section (2) of section 47 of the Assam Private Universities Act, 2007 (Assam Act No. XII of 2007), the Governor of Assam is hereby pleased to make the following rules for carrying out the purposes of the said Act, namely :- 1. Short title and commencement (1) These rules may be called the Assam Private Universities Rules, 2007. (2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazatte. 2. Definitions In these rules unless the context otherwise requires " (a) "Act" means the Assam Private Universities Act, 2007 (Assam Act No. XII of 2007); (b) "application fee" means the amount deposited by the sponsoring body along with the proposal and project report to establish a university in private sector; (c) "committee" means a committee constituted under sub- section (3) of section 4 and sub-section (2) of section 5; (d) "land" means land meant for the establishment of the main campus of the university but shall not include land on which "off-campus centre" and "study centre" are.....

Chapter II CONSTITUTION AND ORGANIZATION OF POLICE SERVICE Constitution of police service 3. (1) There shall be one Police Service in the State. (2) Notwithstanding anything contained in any other law or any of the provisions of this Act, members of the Police Service shall be liable for posting anywhere in the State and outside the State, as may be ordered by the competent authority.
