GOVERNMENT OF INDIA ACT, 1915-191 Preamble2 An Act to consolidate enactments relating to the government of India. whereas it is the declared policy of Parliament to provide for the increasing association of Indians in every branch of Indian administration, and for the gradual development of self-governing institutions, with a view to the progressive realisation of responsible government in British India as an integral part of the empire: AND WHEREAS progress in giving effect to this policy can only be achieved by successive stages, and it is expedient that substantial steps in this direction should now be taken: AND WHEREAS the time and manner of each advance can be determined only by Parliament, upon whom responsibility lies for the welfare and advancement of the Indian peoples: AND WHEREAS the action of Parliament in such matters must be guided by the co-operation received from those on whom new opportunities of service will be conferred, and by the extent to which it is found that confidence con be reposed in their sense of responsibility: AND WHEREAS concurrently with the gradual development of self-governing institutions in the provinces of India it is.....

Bengal Bonded Warehouse Association Act, 1838 Section 10

Title: Directors Go out by Rotation

1 * * * a rotation among the Directors of the said Association shall be settled by lot, so that two of the said Directors may go out of office on the Monday following the 15th day of May, in every year, and 2 * * * on the Monday following the 15th day of May, in every year, a general meeting of proprietors shall be held, at which two Directors shall be chosen, and that no Director going out by such rotation shall be capable of being re-elected, till the Monday after the 15th of May in the year next following. _______________________ 1. Public Servants (Inquiries) Act, 1850 Section 13

Title: Evidence for Prosecution and Examination of Witnesses, Re-examination by Prosecutor

The oral and documentary evidence for the prosecution shall then be exhibited; the witnesses shall be examined by or on behalf of the prosecutor and may be cross-examined by or on behalf of the person accused. The prosecutor shall be entitled to re-examine the witnesses on any points on which they have been cross-examined, but not on any new matter, without leave of the commissioners, who also may put such questions as they think fit.

SECTION 03: AUTHORITIES TO WHOM INQUIRY MAY BE COMMITTED NOTICE TO ACCUSED The inquiry may be committed either to the Court, Board or other authority to which the person accused is subordinate, or to any other person or persons, to be specially appointed by the Government, commissioners for the purpose notice of which commission shall be given to the person accused ten days at least before the beginning of the inquiry. Bengal Bonded Warehouse Association Act 1854 Section 3

Title: Annual Election of Directors

The two Directors who are to go out of office by rotation in every year shall go out of office in the month of May, before the holding of the Ordinary General Meeting of Proprietors directed to be holden in that month, and at such Ordinary General Meeting two Directors shall be chosen, and the Directors so going out of office, or either of them, shall be capable of being re-elected in the same year at such General Meeting.
