1 [19S. Certain Certificates Issued Under Merchant Shipping Act To Be Valid Under This Act Every certificate of registry and every certificate of survey issued in respect of a mechanically propelled vessel under the Merchant Shipping Act, 1958, shall be valid and effective as a certificate of registration or certificate of survey, as the case may be, issued under this Act and the relevant provisions of this Act shall apply in relation to such vessel as they apply to an inland mechanically propelled vessel registered under this Act.] ________________________ 1. Title : Copy of Certificate or Licence to Be Granted in Certain Cases

Whenever a master or serang, or an engineer or engine-driver, proves, to the satisfaction of the authority which granted his certificate,1[or licence] that he has, without fault on his part, lost or been deprived of it, a copy of the certificate1[or licence] to which, according to the record kept under section 23, he appears to be entitled shall be granted to him, and shall have the same effect as the original. ________________________ 1. Title : Certificates to Be Held by Master and Engineer of Vessel of One Hundred or More Horse-power
