No municipal or other local rates shall be payable by the State Government on account of the occupation or use of any house or place1[by members of the Police Force for the convenient performance of their duties, in any area of the2[Bombay area of the State of Maharashtra excluding] Greater Bombay, and also in such of the remaining areas of the3[State of Maharashtra] as may be notified by the State Government in the Official Gazette].
