Act Info:
(1) This Act may be called the Bombay Land Improvement Schemes Act, 1942.
1[(2) It shall extend to the whole of the 2[State of Maharashtra].]
(3) It shall come into force in such area and on such date as the 3[State] Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, direct :
4[Provided that, on the commencement of the Bombay Land Improvement Schemes (Extension and Amendment) Act, 1958, it shall come into force at once in those areas in which the Hyderabad Land Improvement Act, 1953 5[* * *] was in force immediately before such commencement.]

In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (2) of section 1 of the Bombay Land Improvement Schemes (Amendment) Act, 1976 (Mah. XLIII of 1976), the Government of Maharashtra hereby appoints the 15th day of September, 1976, to be the date on which the said Act shall come into force.

5. The words or as the case may be, the Saurashtra Land Improvement Schemes Act, 1954 were omitted by the Maharashtra Adaptation of Laws (State and Concurrent Subjects) Order, 1960.
