Act Info:

(1)The Governor shall authenticate by his signature a schedule specifying--

(a)the grants made by the Assembly under; the last preceding section;

(b)the several sums required to meet the expenditure charged on the revenues of theProvince but not exceeding, in the case of any sum, the sum shown in thestatement previously laid before the Chamber or Chambers:

[Providedthat, if the Assembly have refused to assent to any demandfor grant or haveassented to such a demand subject to a reduction of theamount specified therein,the Governor may, if in his opinion the refusal or reduction would affect thedue discharge of any of his special responsibilities, include in the schedulesuch additional amount, if any, not exceeding the amount of the rejected demandor the reduction, as the case may be, as appears to him necessary in order toenable him to dischargethat responsibility].1

(2) The schedule so authenticated shall be laidbefore the Assembly but shall not be open to discussion or vote in theLegislature.

(3)Subject to the provisions of the next succeeding section, no expenditure fromthe revenues of the province shall be deemed to be duly authorised unless it isspecified in the schedule so authenticated.2

''Provided that expenditure from the revenuesof the Province of West Bengal or East Punjab during the period beginning withthe 15th day of August 1947 and ending with the 31st day of March 1948 may beauthorised or ratified by general or special order of the Governor."
