Amendment of section 198-B. THE CODE OF CRIMINAL PROCEDURE (PONDICHERRY AMENDMENT) ACT, 1965 (Act No. 4 of 1965) 8th April, 1965. An Act to amend the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1898 in its application to the Union territory of Pondicherry. Be it enacted by the Legislative Assembly in the Sixteenth Year of the Republic of India as follows :- 1. Short title and commencement.- (1) This Act may be called the Code of Criminal Procedure (Pondicherry Amendment) Act, 1965. (2) It shall come into force at once. 2. Application of the Act.- The Code of Criminal Procedure, 1898 (5 of 1898) (hereinafter referred to as the said Act), shall, in its application to the Union territory of Pondicherry, be amended for the purpose and in the manner hereinafter provided. 3. Amendment of section 198-B.- In section 198-B of the said Act, in clause (b) of sub-section (3), after the words "or of a State Government", the words "or of the Government of the Union territory of Pondicherry" shall be inserted. |
