| THE PUNJAB MUNICIPAL FUND (AMENDMENT) ACT, 2012 [Act No. 10 of 2012] [13th July, 2012] PREAMBLE AN ACT further to amend the Punjab Municipal Fund Act, 2006. BE it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Punjab in the Sixty-third Year of the Republic of India as follows :-- Section 1 - Short title and commencement (1) This Act may be called the Punjab Municipal Fund (Amendment) Act, 2012. (2) It shall be deemed to have come into force on and with effect from the fifth day of May, 2012. Section 2 - Amendment in section 3 of Punjab Act 27 of 2006 In the Punjab Municipal Fund Act, 2006 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act), in section 3, in sub-section (2), for the words "Ten per cent", the words "Eleven per cent" shall be substituted. Section 3 - Amendment in section 5 of Punjab Act 27 of 2006 In the principal Act, in section 5, in sub-section (1), for the words "Ten per cent", the words "Eleven per cent" shall be substituted. Section 4 - Amendment in section 6 of Punjab Act 27 of 2006 In the principal Act, in section 6, for the sign "." appearing at the end, the sign ":" shall be substituted and thereafter the following proviso shall be added, namely:-- "Provided that the State Government may, by an order, decide the distribution of the amount of tax credited to the Fund amongst the Municipalities, which are constituted or which may be constituted on or after the commencement of the principal Act.". Section 5 - Repeal and saving (1) The Punjab Municipal Fund (Amendment) Ordinance, 2012 (Punjab Ordinance No. 3 of 2012), is hereby repealed. (2) Notwithstanding such repeal, anything done or any action taken under the principal Act, as amended by the Ordinance referred to in sub-section (I), shall be deemed to have been done or taken under the principal Act, as amended by this Act. |
