| THE LAND ACQUISITION (ORISSA AMENDMENT) ACT, 1948 [Published vide Orissa Gazette/21-1-1949-O.A. No. 19 of 1948.] PREAMBLE An Act to amend the Land Acquisition Act, 1894, in its application to the Province of Orissa Whereas it is expedient to amend the Land Acquisition Act, 1894 (1 of 1894) in its application to the Province of Orissa for the purpose hereinafter appearing; It is hereby enacted as follows: The Act has been extended to all the partially excluded areas of the Province of Orissa by Notification No. 1536-La. 4/48-R., dated 5.2.1949 [vide Orissa Gazette Part-III/11.2.1949.] Section 1 - Short title and commencement (1) This Act may be called the Land Acquisition (Orissa Amendment) Act, 1948. (2) It shall come into force at once. Section 2 - Amendment of Section 18 of Act 1, 1894 In Section 18 of the Land Acquisition Act, 1894 (1 of 1894) after Sub-section (2) the following sub-section shall be inserted, namely: "(3) Any order made by the Collector on an application under this section shall be subject to revision by the High Court, as if the Collector were a Court subordinate to the High Court within the meaning of Section 115 of the Code of Civil Procedure, 1908 (V of 1908)." |
