| THE KERALA STATE RURAL DEVELOPMENT BOARD (AMENDMENT) ACT, 1998 [Act No. 18 of 1998] PREAMBLE An Act further to amend the Kerala State Rural Development Board Act, 1971. WHEREAS it is expedient further to amend the Kerala State Rural Development Board Act, 1971, for the purposes hereinafter appearing; Be it enacted in the Forty-ninth Year of the Republic of India as follows:-- Section 1 - Short title and commencement (1) This Act may be called the Kerala State Rural Development Board (Amendment) Act, 1998. (2) It shall be deemed to have come into force on the 5th day of January; 1994. Section 2 - Amendment of section 6 In section 6 of the Kerala State Rural Development Board Act , 1971 (15 of 1971) ( hereinafter referred to as the principal Act ), after sub-section (2), the following sub-section shall be inserted, namely:-- "(3) The Board may, with the previous approval of the Government, sanction towards pension and such other benefits, as it may deem fit, to the staff of the Board appointed under sub-section (1) on their retirement on superannuation, from the Fund of the Board or from a Fund constituted for the purpose by the Board, such amount and in such manner as may be prescribed by rules made by the Government. Section 3 - Amendment of section 15 To sub-section (1) of section 15 of the principal Act, the following proviso shall be added, namely:-- "Provided that the rules relating to pension may be made, either prospectively or retrospectively.". Section 4 - Repeal and saving (1) The Kerala State Rural Development Board (Amendment) Ordinance, 1998 (12 of 1998), is hereby repealed. (2) Notwithstanding such repeal, anything done or any action taken under the principal Act, as amended by the said Ordinance, shall be deemed to have been done or taken under the principal Act, as amended by this Act. |
