AN ACT
To provide for medical facilities to members of the Haryana Legislative Assembly.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of he State of Haryana in the Thirty-seventh year of the Republic of India as follows-
Short title.

. This Act may be called the Haryana Legislative Assembly (Medical Facilities to Members) Act, 1986.
Definitions

In this Act, unless the subject or context otherwise requires,-
(a) "Assembly" means the Haryana Legislative Assembly;
1[(b) "Member" means a person who is or has been a member of the assembly and includes the Chief Minister, the Speaker, a Minister, a Minister of State, a Deputy Minister, the Deputy Speaker, the Chief Parliamentary Secretary and a Parliamentary Secretary; and]
Medical facilities.

Medical Facilities.- Every member shall be entitled to such medical facilities for himself and for such members of his family as may be prescribed.
Provided that a member, who is appointed as Chairman of the Board/Corporation owned or controlled by the Central Government or any State Government, shall have an option to either avail medical facilities in his capacity as a member or as Chairman of the Board/ Corporation, as the case may be."]
Power to make rules.

(1) The State Government may make rules for carrying out the purpose of this Act.
(2) Every rule made this section shall be laid as soon as may be, after it is made, before the House of the State Legislature while it is in session for a total period of ten days, which may be comprised in one session or in two or more successive sessions, unless they are sooner approved with or without modifications or disapproved by the House and where they are so approved, they shall take effect on such approval in the form in which they were laid or in such modified form, as the case may be, and where they are so disapproved, they shall be of no effect. So, however, that any such modification or amendment shall be without prejudice to the validity of anything previously done under that rule.
Omission of Section 7B of Haryana Act 2 of 1975.

Section 7B of the Haryana Legislative Assembly (Allowances and Pension of Members) Act, 1975 shall be omitted.
Repeal of Punjab

6.
The Punjab State Legislature Officers, Ministers and Members (Medical Facilities) Act, 1965 (Punjab Act No. 26 of 1965), is hereby repealed.
