THE HARYANA COOPERATIVE SUGAR MILLS (CONSTITUTION AND TENURE OF COMMITTEES) ACT, 1971 [Act No. 37 of 1971] [11th November, 1971] PREAMBLE An Act to provide for the constitution of first committees and extension of tenure of committees already constituted under the Punjab Co- operative Societies Act, 1961, for the Co-operative Sugar Mills in which the State Government has a financial interest. Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Haryana in the Twenty Sugar Mills (Constitution and Tenure of Committees) Act, 1971. Section 1 - Short title This Act may be called the Haryana Cooperative Sugar Mills (Constitution and Tenure of Committees) Act, 1971. Section 2 - Constitution and tenure of committees Notwithstanding anything to the contrary contained in the Punjab Co-operative Societies Act, 1961, or the rules made thereunder or the bye laws made by any Co-operative Sugar Mills in which the State Government has a substantial financial interest :- (a) the State Government may, by notification, constitute, by nomination, the first committee of any Co-operative Sugar Mill, consisting of such number of members not exceeding eleven, out of whom not less than one- third shall be share holders; (b) the tenure of the committees of such Co-operative Sugar Mills constituted under the said Act, or under this Act, shall be four years from the date of constitution thereof. Section 3 - Application of Punjab Act 25 of 1961 The other provisions of the Punjab Co-operatives Societies Act, 1961 and the rules made there under shall, mutates mutinies, apply to the Co-operative Sugar Mills. |
