This petition under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India is for issuance of writ in the nature of mandamus directing the respondents to release the balance payment qua the work, which was allotted to the petitioner.

The petitioner was allotted certain works of providing water supply scheme at villages Jaja Rasulpur, Shahbazpur and Manpur Shahbazpur, District Hoshiarpur, vide separate ordeRs.detail of which has been given in para No.3 of the petition.

The petitioner has completed the said works to the satisfaction of the respondents, but the payment thereof has not been released to him till date.

In this regard, the petitioner has given a legal notice dated 20.01.2014 (Annexure P-1) to the respondents, but no action has been taken thereon till date.
