(oral) petitioners have approached this court praying for the revised pensionary benefits which they are entitled to as there is an anomaly/discrimination between pre and post 01.01.2006 retirees. highlighting their grievance, petitioners served a legal notice dated 28.01.2011 (annexure p-5) upon the respondents, to which a letter dated 20.06.2011 (annexure p-7) has been received by the petitioners.which was addressed to the counsel through whom the legal notice was served, that the matter is under consideration of the government and the decision will be conveyed. subsequently, further revision has taken place, which benefit has also not been cwp no.3824 o”2. granted to the petitioners and accordingly, the petitioners submitted a supplementary legal notice dated 26.07.2012 (annexure p-8) upon the respondents, which is still pending consideration with the respondents but without any response. counsel for the petitioners contends that the petitioners.at this stage, would be satisfied if a direction is issued to the principal secretary to government of punjab, department of finance, punjab- respondent no.2 to consider and decide the claim of the petitioners as has been projected by them in the legal notice dated 28.01.2011 (annexure p-5) and the supplementary legal notice dated 26.07.2012 (annexure p-8) within some specified time. without going into the merits of the case or commenting thereon, the present writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the principal secretary to government of punjab, department of finance, punjab-respondent no.2 to consider and decide the claim of the petitioners as has been projected by them in the legal notice dated 28.01.2011 (annexure p-5) and the supplementary legal notice dated 26.07.2012 (annexure p-8).within a period of five months from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order. the decision, so taken, be conveyed to the petitioners forthwith.
