Section Title Appointment of Director of Police Wireless and of Superintendent, Assistant and Deputy Superintendents for Wireless System, Motor Transport System or Any Specific Duty

1 [8A. 2 [Appointment of Director of Police Wireless and of Superintendent], Assistant and Deputy Superintendents for Wireless System, Motor Transport System or any specific duty.

(1) The State Government may appoint for the whole of the State or for any part thereof--

3 [(i) one or more Directors of Police Wireless and 4 [a Special Inspector General] of Police for the Police Wireless System (hereinafter referred to as "the Director of Police Wireless") as it thinks fit, and

(ii) one or more Superintendents of Police, and Assistant and Deputy Superintendents of Police as it thinks fit--],

(a) for the Police Wireless System;

(b) for the Police Motor Transport System; or

(c) for the performance of such specific duties as the State Government may from time to time determine in this behalf.

(2) 5 [Any Director or Police Wireless and Superintendent] so appointed shall exercise such powers and perform such functions as the State Government may from time to time 6 [assign to each of them]. 7 [The Director may, with the previous permission of the State Government, delegate any of the powers and functions conferred on him by or under this Act to a Superintendent, or to an Assistant or Deputy Superintendent, and the Superintendent may, subject to the like previous permission, delegate such powers and functions to an Assistant or Deputy Superintendent]:

Provided that, the powers and functions aforesaid shall be exercised or performed by 8 [the Director, Superintendent] or Assistant or Deputy Superintendent, subject to the control of the 9 [Director General and Inspector General].
