Act Info:

In this Act, unless there is anything repugnant in the subject or context,-

(1) "approved institution" means a hospital or a medical or teaching institution approved by the 1[State] Government 2[for all or any of the purposes of this Act];

(2) "authorized officer" means an officer authorized to act under section 5;

(3) "near relative" means any of the following relatives of the deceased, namely, a wife, husband, parent, son, daughter, brother and sister and includes any other person who is related to the deceased (a) by lineal or collateral consanguinity within three degrees in lineal relationship and six degrees in collateral relationship, or (b) marriage either with the deceased or with any relative specifically mentioned in this clause or with any other relative within the aforesaid degrees.

Explanation.--The expressions "lineal and collateral consanguinity" shall have the meanings assigned to them in the Indian Succession Act, 1925;

(4) "prescribed" means prescribed by rules made under this Act;

(5) "unclaimed body" means the body of a deceased person who has no near relative or whose body has not been claimed by any of his near relatives within such period as may be prescribed.

NOTIFICATIONS

3No. HMC. 1005/325/CR-54/05/EDU-2, dated 12th July, 2005.--Government vide Notification No. HED. 1389/588/CR-84/07, dated the 30th January, 1990 has declared the Satara Gymkhana's Homoeopathic Medical College, Satara, Dist. Satara as an approved institution under the Bombay Anatomy Act, 1949. Thereafter, upon having been changed the name of the said College Notification No. HMC. 2198/312/CR-39/EDU-2, dated 7th June, 1998 was issued for substitution of its new name as,-

"Samarth Educational Trust's Homoeopathic Medical College and Samarth Hospital, A. M. 1/1, Additional M. I. D. C, Degaon Road, Satara 415004."

2. Now, Since the Government under Circular No. HMC/1004/5165/CR-668/04/ EDU-2, dated 6th January, 2005, has granted permission to change the name of the said college again as Sawakar Homoeopathic Medical College, Satara. The Government directs that Sawakar Homoeopathic Medical College, Satara shall be an approved institution under the Bombay Anatomy Act, 1949.

4No. AMC. 2099/1506/CR-224/99/EDU-2, dated 16th February, 2000. -Government vide Resolution Local Self Government and Public Health Department, No. 5337/33-11, dated 13th June, 1950 has declared Ayurved Mahavidyalaya, Pune as approved Institution under Bombay Anatomy Act, 1949. The Institute has approached the Government for the change of Name and address of the approved Institution.

2. Government after considering all facts direct that for the words "Ayurved Mahavidyalaya, Pune" the following should be substituted in Government Resolution dated 13th June, 1950-

Rashtriya Shikshan Mandal's

Tilak Ayurved Mahavidyalaya, Pune 583/2, Rasta Peth, Pune - 411011.

5No. HMC. 1099/1294/CR-195/99/EDU-2, dated 23rd August, 1999.-Government vide notification Medical Education and Drugs Department. No. ADR. 1589/1557/CR-121/MED-7, dated Nil has declared "Prabhat Education Society's Homoeopathic Medical College, Parbhani" as approved Institution under Bombay Anatomy Act, 1949. The Institute has approached the Government for the change of Name and address of the approved Institution.

2. Government after considering all facts direct that for the words "Prabhat Education Society's Homoeopathic Medical College, Parbhani" the following words should be substituted in Government notification dated nil -

P.D. Jain Homoeopathic Medical College and Hospital,

Vakil Colony, Parbhani, 431401.

6No. MED. 1699/582/CR-67/99/EDU-1, dated 10th March, 1999.--Under Government Notification No. MED. 1689/821/CR-138/89/MED-4(A), dated the 22nd June, 1989 the Government of Maharashtra in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 2 of the Bombay Anatomy Act, 1949 (Bom. Act XI of 1949), had declared "Bharati Vidyapeeth, Pune" as approved institution for the purpose of sub-sections (1), (2) and (3) of section 5 of the said Act.

And now as the Principal of the abovesaid college by his letter No. BR/DU/MC/183/98-99, dated 12th February, 1999 has informed the Government that the name of the College has been changed therefore, the name included in the notification should be changed. After considering the request of Bharati Vidyapeeth the Government hereby amends the notification dated 22nd June, 1989 and directs that instead of the name "Bharati Vidyapeeth, Pune" as it appears in the notification it should be read as "Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University, Pune Medical College, Dhankawadi, Pune - 411043.

7No. MED. 1098/461/CR-27/ 98/EDU-1, dated 24th March, 1998. - Under the Government Notification No. MED. 1092/32/CR-5/97/MED-4-A, dated the 13th January, 1992, the Government of Maharashtra, in exercise of the power conferred by sub-section (1) of section 2 of the Bombay Anatomy Act, 1949 (Bom. Act XI of 1949) has declared Terna Medical College, New Panvel as the approved institution for the purpose of sub-sections (1), (2) and (3) of section 5 of the said Act; and Now as the Dean of Terna Medical College by his letter dated 20th February, 1998 has informed the Government that the College premises has moved from New Panvel to Phase II, Sector-12, Nerul, Navi Mumbai; therefore, the Government hereby pleased to notify that the address of Terna Medical College be read as Phase II, Sector 12, Nerul, Navi Mumbai instead of Terna Medical College, New Panvel.

8No. MED. 1690/207/(13)/90/EDU-1, dated 25th May, 1998.--Under the Government Notification No. MED. 1690/1905/CR-269/90/MED-4A, dated the 12th August, 1991 the Government of Maharashtra in exercise of the power conferred by sub-section (1) of section 2 of the Bombay Anatomy Act, 1949 (Bom. Act XI of 1949) had declared K. J. Somayya Medical College and Research Centre, Vidyavihar, Bombay as approved Institution for the purpose of sub-sections (1), (2) and (3) of section 5 of the said Act, and

2. Now as the Dean of K. J. Somayya Medical College and Research Centre by his letter dated 21st January, 1998 has informed the Government that the College premises has moved from Vidyavihar, Bombay to Agravihar Complex, behind Evard Nagar, Eastern Highway, Sion, Mumbai therefore the Government hereby pleased to notify that the address of K. J. Somayya Medical College be read as Ayurvihar Complex, behind Evard Nagar, Eastern Highway, Sion, Mumbai, instead of Vidyavihar, Mumbai.

9No. AMC. 1398/112/CR-21/98/EDU-2, dated 15th April, 1998.--Government Local Self Government and Public Health Department vide Resolution No. SAC. 1258/H, dated 15th February, 1958 has declared Shuddha Ayurved Mahavidyalaya, Sion, Bombay as approved institution for the purpose of section 2(1) of Bombay Anatomy Act, 1949. The Institute has approached the Government for the change of the name of the approved institution.

Government after considering all facts direct that for the words "Shuddha Ayurved Mahavidyalaya, Sion, Bombay" the following words should be substituted to Government Resolution dated by 15th February, 1958 :-

"Ayurved Mahavidyalaya, Sion, Mumbai".
