Power to Try Offences Summarily
The District Magistrate or any magistrate of the first class specially empowered in this behalf by the State Government may try summarily under the1[Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 (Central Act 2 of 1974)], any forest offence punishable with imprisonment, which may extend to six months, or with fine which may extend to five hundred rupees, or with both.
