Section 65 Occupier may deduct cess paid from rent Whenever any occupier of land which is held rent-free by the owner thereof shall have paid any sum as cess due in respect of such land to any holder of an estate or tenure to whom such cess is payable, such occupier shall be entitled to deduct the sum so paid by him from the rent next thereafter payable by him to the owner of such land, until such sum is fully adjusted.
