35.Power of ¹ [State] Government ² [or Commissioner] to callfor proceedings :

The¹ [State] Government ² [or the Commissioner] in respect ofsuch matters as the State Government may by general or special order specify inthis behalf may at any time for the purpose of satisfying itself ² [orhimself as the case may be,] as to the legality or propriety of any orderpassed by any officer under this Act call for and examine the record of anycase pending before or disposed of by such officer and may pass such order inreference thereto as it or ³ [he, as the case may be,] thinks fit:

³ [Provided that no order shall bevaried or revised until the parties interested have been given a reasonableopportunity of showing cause against the proposed variation or revision of theorder.]
