Fees for pilotage and certain other services

1) Within any port subject to this Act, fees may be charged for pilotage, hauling, mooring, remooring, booking, measuring and other services rendered to vessels, at such rates as the 3 (a) [a] Substituted for the words 'Local Government', by A. 0.. 1937(1-4-1937). [Government] may direct. 3 (b) [b] The original Proviso was omitted by the Indian Ports (Amendment) Act, 1916 (6 of 1916), Section 8, and the Proviso, inserted by the Bengal Pilot Service (Centralisation of Administration) Act, 1929 (11 of 1929), Section 3, was omitted by A. 0., 1937(1-4-1937). [* * * * * * * * *] (2) The fees now chargeable for such services shall continue to be chargeable unless and until they are altered in exercise of the power conferred by sub-section (1). 3 (c) [c] Added by the Port Trusts and Ports(Amendment) Act, 1951 (35 of l951), S. 190(16-7-1951).[(3) The Government may, in special cases, remit the whole or any portion of the fees chargeable under sub-section (1) or sub-section (2). ]
