INDUSTRIAL DISPUTES (WEST BENGAL AMENDMENT) ACT, 1974 37 of 1974 26th August, 1974 An Act to amend the Industrial Disputes Act, 1947, in its application to West Bengal. WHEREAS it is expedient to amend the Industrial Disputes Act, 1947, in its application to West Bengal, for the purpose and in the manner hereinafter appearing; It is hereby enacted as follows :- Section 1 Short title This Act may be called the Industrial Disputes (West Bengal Amendment) Act, 1974. Section 2 Application of the Act The Industrial Disputes Act, 1947 (hereinafter referred to as the said Act), shall, in its application to West Bengal, be amended in the manner hereinafter provided. Section 3 Amendment of section 2 of Act 14 of 1947 In the Explanation to clause (kkk) of section 2 of the said Act, for the words beginning with "Every workman" and ending with "so presenting himself, the following shall be substituted, namely:- "No workman whose name is borne on the muster rolls of the industrial establishment and who presents himself for work at the establishment at the time appointed for the purpose during normal working hours on any day and is given employment by the employer can be laid-off for that day but if any such workman is not given employment by the employer within two hours of his so presenting himself, he". |
