No. 32-Leg/2000 - The following Act of the Legislature of the State of Punjab received the assent of the President of India on the 20th November, 2000, and is hereby published for general information: -

THE REGISTRATION (PUNJAB AMENDMENT) ACT, 2000

ACT

further to amend the Registration Act, 1908, in its application to the State of Punjab.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Punjab in the Fifty-one year of the Republic of India as follows: -

Short title and commencement

1. (1) This Act may be called the Registration (Punjab Amendment) Act, 2000.

(2) It shall come into force at once.

Amendment of section 30 of Central Act 16 of 1908.

2. In the Registration Act, 1908, in its application to the State of Punjab (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act), in section 30, -

(i) in sub-section (I), the brackets and figure "(I)" shall be omitted; and

(ii) sub-section (2) shall be omitted.

Omission of section 67 of Central Act 16 of 1908

3. In the principal Act, section 67 shall be omitted.
