| THE PUNJAB MUNICIPAL CORPORATION (AMENDMENT) ACT, 2012 |
| THE PUNJAB MUNICIPAL CORPORATION (AMENDMENT) ACT, 2012 [ Act No. 9 of 2012] [13th July, 2012] PREAMBLE AN ACT further to amend the Punjab Municipal Corporation Act, 1976. Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Punjab in the Sixty-third Year of the Republic of India as follows :- Section 1 - Short title and commencement (1) This Act may be called the Punjab Municipal Corporation (Amendment) Act, 2012. (2) It shall be deemed to have come into force on and with effect from the fifth day of May, 2012. Section 2 - Amendment in section 113 of Punjab Act 42 of 1976 In the Punjab Municipal Corporation Act, 1976, in section 113, in the second proviso, for the sign "." appearing at the end, the sign ":" shall be substituted and thereafter the following proviso shall be added, namely :-- "Provided further that with effect from the commencement of the Punjab Municipal Corporation (Amendment) Act, 2012, no octroi shall be levied on petrol and diesel.". Section 3 - Repeal and saving (1) The Punjab Municipal Corporation (Amendment) Ordinance, 2012 (Punjab Ordinance No. 2 of 2012), is hereby repealed. (2) Notwithstanding such repeal, anything done or any action taken under the principal Act, as amended by the Ordinance referred to in sub-section (1), shall be deemed to have been done or taken under the principal Act, as amended by this Act. |
