CRIMINAL LAW AMENDMENT (EXTENSION) THE CRIMINAL LAW AMENDMENT (EXTENSION) ACT, 1957 (PUNJAB ACT NO. 44 OF 1957) [1. For Statement of Objects and Reasons, sea Punjab Government Gazelle (Extraordinary), 1957, page 1G60.] [Received the assent of the President of India on the 16rh November, 1957, and was first published in the Punjab Government Gazette (Extraordinary) of the 5th December, 1957.] AN ACT to extend to the territories which immediately before the 1st November, 1956, were comprised in the State of Patiala and East Punjab States Union the Criminal Law Amendment Act, 1932, as applicable to the territories which immediately before the said date were comprised in the State of Punjab. Be it enacted by the Legislature of the Scale of Punjab in the Eighth Year of the Republic of India as follows:" Short title and commencement. 1. (1) This Act may be called the Criminal Law Amendment (Extension) Act, 1957 (2) It shall come into force at once. . Extension of Central Act No. XXIII of 1932 2. So much of the Criminal Law Amendment Act, 1932, as amended from time to time as extends to the territories which immediately before the 1st November, 1956, were comprised in the State of Punjab and relates to matters with respect to which the State Legislature has power to make laws for the State, is hereby extented to and shall be in force in the territories which immediately before the said date, were comprised in the State of Patiala and East Punjab Union. Repeal. 3. The Criminal Law Amendment (Extension) Ordinance, 1957 (Ordinance No. 8 of 1957), is hereby repealed. |
