Shri Jagannath Temple (Amendment) Act, 2008 Complete Act - Bare Act

AN ACT FURTHER TO AMEND SHRI JAGANNATH TEMPLE ACT, 1955.

BE it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Orissa in the Fifty-ninth Year of the Republic of India as follows:"

) This Act may be called Shri Jagannath Temple (Amendment) Act, 2008.

(

) It shall come into force on such date as the State Government may, by notification, appoint.

In Shri Jagannath Temple Act, 1955, in section 21-B,"

(

i

) in clause (b), for the word ˜him', the words "an office holder or employee attached to the Temple" shall be substituted and for the full stop appearing at the end, the coma and word ˜˜or'' shall be substituted; and

(

ii

) after clause (b), the following clause shall be inserted, namely:"

˜˜(c) where a Sevak is involved in any criminal offence committed inside the Temple premises or in connection with the affairs of the Temple.''.
