The Calicut University (Amendment) Act, 1977 [1]

(Act 14 Of 1977)

An Act further to amend the Calicut University Act
, 1975.

Preamble . -WHEREAS it is expedient further to amend the Calicut University Act, 1975, for the purpose hereinafter appearing;

BE it enacted in the Twenty-eighth year of the republic of India as follows: -

1. Short title and commencement . -(1) This Act may be called the Calicut University (Amendment) Act, 1977.

(2) It shall be deemed to have come into force on the 9 th day of September, 1974.

2. Amendment of Section 2 . -In section 2 of the Calicut University Act, 1975 (5 of 1975) (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act), in clause (16), the following shall be inserted at the end, namely: -

"but shall not include a college which is administered and managed by a society registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860 (Central Act 21 of 1860) and which is a joint and co-operative enterprise of the Central Government and the Government of Kerala;"

3. Repeal and saving . -(1) The Calicut University (Amendment) Ordinance, 1977 (8 of 1977), is hereby repealed.

(2) Notwithstanding such repeal, anything done or deemed to have been done or any action taken or deemed to have been taken under the principal Act as amended by the said Ordinance shall be deemed to have been done or taken under the principal Act as amended by this Act. .
