| THE CHHATTISGARH EXCISE (AMENDMENT) ACT, 2010 [Act No. 4 of 2011] [ Published in the Chhattisgarh Rajpatra (Asadharan) dated 1-2-2011 Page 54(1). ] [01st February, 2011] PREAMBLE An Act further to amend the Chhattisgarh Excise Act, 1915. Be it enacted by the Chhattisgarh Legislature in the Sixty-first Year of the Republic of India as follows: Section 1 - Short title, extent and commencement (1) This Act may be called the Chhattisgarh Excise (Amendment) Act, 2010. (2) It extends to the whole State of Chhattisgarh. (3) It shall come into force with effect from 1st April, 2011. Section 2 - Amendment of Section 25 After clause (iv) of sub-section (2) of Section 25 of the Chhattisgarh Excise Act, 1915 (No. 2 of 1915), the following new clause shall be inserted, namely: -- "(v) 10% surcharge on the prescribed duty on excisable articles will be payable which shall be transferred to rural and urban local bodies on the basis of their population." |
